FUNDAMENTAL CONCEPTS IN MATHEMATICS
Chandrahas Halai, the author of the book “Vedic Mathematics Inside Out” was invited to
conduct a session on “Fundamental Concepts in Mathematics” for the students of classes 9
to 12. The main objective of this session was to equip the students with a variety of activities
to strengthen the mathematical concepts. He emphasised that concentration is the key
element to understand anything. The session comprehensively covered the techniques of
Vedic mathematics in computation and their procedural and conceptual understanding. The
"how" and, more importantly, the "why" of fundamental concepts in mathematics have been
vividly explained, with words and figures. The session helped the students to unlock the
beauty, magic and mystery of mathematics.
