Nurturing Talent

for Nobel Laureatism

Reliance Foundation School, Koparkhairane, in association with Navi Mumbai Science
Foundation (NMSF), organised the third edition of the Inter School Essay Writing

Competition Nurturing Talent for Nobel Laureatism for the students of classes 9 and 10 at
the Multipurpose Hall in the school. The competition was conducted in two rounds. The

first round of the competition was held on Friday, 16 August 2019. Thirty students qualified
for the second round that was held on Saturday, 23 November 2019.

The objective behind this endeavour was not only to promote a scientific temperament but

also stimulate the curious minds to research extensively on the Nobel laureates. The
competition thus focused on the Nobel laureates (from the immediate previous year) in the

fields of physics, chemistry and biology (physiology/medical science). The first round
involved writing an essay on the life and work of the Nobel laureates. The participants

who were shortlisted for the second round made presentations based on their essays and
subsequently interacted with the panel of experts. This was followed by the prize

distribution ceremony.
