Vachan Prerna Diwas
On 15 October 2019, Reliance Foundation School, Koparkhairane celebrated Vachan
Prerna Diwas commemorating the birth anniversary of Dr. A P J Abdul Kalam. This day is
celebrated as “Reading Inspiration Day”. Various activities for different classes were
organised; story telling session for pre-primary, reading time for Primary, Middle and Senior
School students. Reading material included short stories and articles on APJ Abdul Kalam.
The students were asked to write reflection on the articles or stories read by them. The
students were also shown a documentary film on Dr. Kalam. Teaching and non-teaching
staff also participated enthusiastically in the Drop Everything And Read (DEAR)
programme. The whole school had displays related to Dr. Kalam – his quotes, his caricatures
made by students, a model of missile with cycle, a collage on his life and books written by him.
