Reading Classics or Modern literature

Classics are literary works which have been recognized and established value. Modern

literature is characterized by a very self-conscious break with traditional ways of writing.
Both of these have their own pros and cons and can act as boon or bane depending upon
        the purpose they serve.

Although the precise qualities which define classics are difficult to pinpoint; there seems
to be correlation on what should be the title of the book. Classics include books such as

Little Women, to kill a Mockingbird etc. Many classical novels give an insight into
universal aspects of human world. This is one of the most cited reason for reading the

classics. A lucid idea on the stereotypes and stigmas faced by some in the society is also
served to us. Another advantage is that the classics go deep into their topics. A troubling

lack of diversity is also a characteristic. Classics provide an idea about the world at that
time, which might entice people who have interest in history too.

Similarly, modern literature has its own pros and cons. Some examples of modern books

are The Alchemist, Life of Pi etc. a very appreciable quality of modern literature is that

they tell us more about the current world. They take a break from traditional ways of
writing but this may not be appreciated by all readers.

There are many reasons of choosing between both. I think reading classics stands stronger.

As the phrase goes, “Old is gold”, classics are also valuable for the readers. Modern
literature authors have written books on ideas originated after reading classics. The books

that were modern then are classics now. And the books which are modern today will be
classics tomorrow. And modern literature will inspire a new generation.

        Trees In The Fountain

I see a tree, tall and green,It reminds me of a

        Christmas tree.

The air within, is pollution free,And all I see is
        greenery near me.

Another tree is short and sad,I think there is a soul
        in it, one very bad.

Now I got really scared, So I‘m going to run and
        pack my bag.
