BOOST YOUR CONFIDENCE!
Self-confidence plays a major role in achieving our goals. It can lead us to
great heights and find success. The most vital thing to be successful would
be to believe yourself and have confidence in everything that you do.
At times, many of us have negative thoughts about ourselves which lead to
low confidence. But if we give timely efforts and work on improving our
confidence, we tend to become brave, outgoing and bold. The key to build
confidence lies in you.
The following strategies would help you to build your confidence:
ACCEPT YOURSELF: Accept yourself who you are and others too will
follow suit. If you think negative about yourself, others might also feel the
same way.
SET REALISTIC GOALS: Setting realistic goals also boosts self-
confidence. Take time and set achievable goals. When you achieve those
goals, reward yourself and celebrate your achievements. The goals could be
short term like cleaning your room, organising your things or long term goals
like getting good grades in your exam or qualifying for a certain sport.
DON’T COMPARE: When you look at your friend’s Instagram account or
their lives, you tend to compare your life with them. But we need to
understand that whatever we see online need not be true. Every individual
faces their own difficulties and everyone has a different story. When you
notice that you are comparing yourself with others, remind yourself that this
won’t help and that life is not a race or a competition.
TRY NEW THINGS: While trying new things, we tend to learn a lot and
understand our hidden talents or interests. By learning new things, our brain is
stimulated and we may tend to become more passionate about the new learning.
HELP OTHERS: Confidence is boosted when we do selfless things – do one
thing a week to help someone else without expecting anything in return.
You will be amazed about the happiness that you feel after helping others
even in a small way.
Lastly, as quoted by Dalai Lama, ‘With realisation of one’s own potential and
self-confidence in one’s ability, one can build a better world’.
