THE ROLE OF WOMEN IN INDIAN SOCIETY

The society is incomplete without the contribution of women. The role of
women has changed over centuries. Women, today, are the creative force

of the universe. Women have become great influencers and are very
powerful today. They have struggled a lot to gain a status that is equal to

that of men.

In olden times, women were just confined to serving the family and
bringing up the children. Very few families allowed the female members to

work outside of their homes. The talents of women were restricted to
kitchen, embroidery and stitching. They had no importance in their family

and the basic right to their education was exploited.

Changing times brought women up. They raised their voice in every
possible way so that they could prove themselves. Women are the ultimate

multitaskers - they look after their house and children; they have their
respective jobs. They have made a huge improvement in their lifestyles by

holding up positions in the government and following the path of various
other professions.

Thus, after a long struggle, the women have finally achieved success and

have a respectful place in the modern society. No society can ignore the
role of women. Women will always be important to the society as they

impart love, care and affection.
