CREATIVITY

                Albert Einstein looked at creativity as ‘Intelligence having fun’. Creativity;
                like most lay people understand has something to do with creating

                something new or is related to art. The human mind has always been
                intrigued with colors, shapes, patterns, melodies, dance forms, ideas to sell
                things differently and so many more things. When we look at the beautiful
                glass work on church domes or an eye-catching painting, mind engaging

                musical tunes or even a simple meal set invitingly in a homely aesthetic, they
                all leads us to two words, “How Creative…”

                Creativity is something we all have been gifted with since our birth. When

                we enter this world itself, the creator has programmed us to cry with
                creativity using different tones and pitches and there is probably no
                newborn baby that cries the same. Growing up we are introduced to the
                world of drawing, dancing, painting, singing, carving, sculpting and so many

                other things. Creativity is this inner urge, this turmoil of the soul to express
                itself in the most beautiful way possible. Creativity is present in each and
                every individual, it just finds creative ways to express itself.

                The tools to express one’s creativity are skills. Skills are mostly innate and
                when given proper nurturing and opportunity, they turn to talent. Today,
                in a country like India where we have an urban and the rural divide;
                creativity is no barrier. In the urban areas we have art galleries,

                auditoriums, amphitheaters where artists and amateurs come to showcase
                their creativity, where they want to be acknowledged, accepted and
                admired. On the other hand, in the rural areas where colors and designs are
                a part and parcel of life, the day begins with a neat layer of cow dung on

                which is drawn a beautiful rangoli with the most rustic materials available.
                The flowers in the front and backyard, laid out artistically decorate the
                arches and the doors of the entry to the houses and the aroma of freshly
                cooked food permeates through the air.

                Creativity is what keeps the human mind sane, yet restless. The urge to
                create keeps the artists wanting to give their best and to satisfy their inner
                desire. To do what your passion dictates is the order of the day and being

                creative is the only way to achieve that.
