On September 5th, India celebrates Teachers' Day in honour of the second President of India,
Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, who was not only a leader but also a respected academic philosopher,
diplomat, and teacher. This year, due to the ongoing pandemic, students at Reliance Foundation School
in Koparkhairane celebrated Teachers’ Day by expressing their gratitude to their teachers on a virtual
platform. Despite the limitations of remote learning, the students went above and beyond to create
handmade cards, recited poems, and even prepared a video with the help of their parents to show
appreciation for their teachers. Additionally, students in classes 11 and 12 went the extra mile by
organising a special assembly, complete with recorded videos of their performances, speeches, and
songs. The programme was meticulously planned and effectively executed, leaving all the teachers
surprised and touched by the students' heartfelt gestures. The programme began with a warm welcome
by comperes, followed by school prayer and various performances by talented students including
a well-choreographed dance, a mesmerising song, and speeches on the life of Dr Sarvapalli
Radhakrishnan, which were well-appreciated by everyone. The heartwarming skit and poem in Hindi
by the students praised the teacher's presence and significance in every phase of a student's life were
exhilarating. The Principal, Mr Alok Katdare, also took the opportunity to acknowledge, commend and
congratulate the teachers and all the staff for their untiring efforts and promptness to learn new skills
and face the challenging times.
