The compere for the day, Nayana Thanvi of class 8 C, started with a quote on Constitution.
The Head Girl, Sarrah Nayar of class 12 A, delivered a thought provoking speech on the role
and responsibilities of youth. This influential speech was followed by the popular patriotic
song, “Sare Jahan Se Achha”, by the school choir.
The gathering was then addressed by the Head of Administration, Radhakrishnan Mattiyil,
who highlighted first line of the Preamble to the Indian Constitution, “We the people”, to
emphasise that the development of the country and welfare of its people rests with each one
of us. Lastly the national song, Vande Mantaram, was sung by the gathering. Students were
dispersed after distributing the sweets.
