 Senior Secondary

 School Highlights

At the Secondary and Senior Secondary School, our prime focus is on developing a clear, creative and
comprehensive thinking process, learning to transmit ideas, facts and feelings creatively and effectively.
Innovations in teaching-learning methodologies were espoused by devising student-friendly and student-
 centred paradigms.

The global pandemic brought the world to its knees and the academic community had to rise to the challenge on
a war footing. It was imperative for us to ensure that our students were not deprived of their right to qualitative
education and that the access to learning continues for one and all in a seamless manner. The teachers rose with
fervour to the challenge of transitioning to an online medium of learning. They acted as the guiding force behind
our students, hand-holding them, assuaging their fears and doubts and leading them to a place of confidence and
 strength.

Intensive and rigorous preparation by the teachers ensured complete learning, unlocking the students' potential
in order to maximise their performance and bring out the best in them. The teaching was made systematic and
structured through well-planned lesson plans suited for the virtual model of teaching.

Language teaching was student-centred where students learned by communicating with each other and the
teacher played the role of a facilitator and guide. Innovative methods such as dramatisation, role play,
declamation, quiz, poster making, speech, caption writing, debate, poem writing, advertisement, extempore and
group discussions were used in language teaching. With a carefully crafted curriculum, the teaching of

mathematics employed lively and innovative methods to develop advanced logical reasoning skills. The
teaching of mathematics was made simple by extensive use of teaching aids. The students were engaged in
learning science as a composite discipline, and in activities and analysis on issues surrounding the environment
and health. The teaching of science was completely based on learning by doing. The strategies included project
work, making working and still models, experiments, demonstrations, group discussions and video clippings.
The online classes were made very interactive and hands-on with the help of various edtech tools. We catered to
the needs of all our students through a variety of activities and teaching strategies that were incorporated into
 the curriculum.

Throughout the academic year across all the subjects, a student-centred approach was followed which actively
engaged the students in the learning process, tried to develop critical and analytical skills and aimed at nurturing

a positive and healthy behaviour. The various interschool and interhouse competitions, special assemblies on
varied themes, provided a myriad of opportunities to the students to develop and hone their latent skills and
talents. The school and the teachers strived to provide a supportive environment throughout which is critical for
a student's cognitive, physical, social and emotional growth. The laurels brought by the students in the diverse
spheres even during the pandemic stand as proof of the school's commitment towards quality education.
