Middle School
Highlights
With the onset of the pandemic last year, the world was confined and almost everything underwent a change.
Although the change was unwelcoming in certain situations, embracing the change was the only solution.
Keeping up with the challenging times, Reliance Foundation School, Koparkhairane started with the online
classes on Microsoft teams for Education and embraced this change by putting the best possible efforts to deliver
the best to the students.
In Middle School, we ensure the holistic development of students to provide opportunities for enriched learning
experiences beyond the curriculum and develop the skills of decision-making in students. We promote
acceptance and respect for all and enhance enjoyment in learning. This is the stage where we identify individual
talents and develop them. Apart from the online classes, various virtual events, competitions and sessions were
organised for the students ensuring that the pandemic doesn't hamper the motive of the overall development of a
student.
As technology has become an integral part of teaching and learning, technological sessions on Adobe Spark were
conducted. Various projects were given to let students explore the uses of these technologies and apply this new
learning. To foster and keep up a healthy and competitive spirit and effective communication skills in the
students, virtual competitions and academic activities that go beyond the textbooks were conducted throughout
the year. The activities like Reading Programme, Bhasha Sangam, Yoga day celebration etc, and competitions
like English quiz, Poster Making, Best out of waste, Mathematics quiz, General Knowledge quiz etc, were
conducted virtually at the classroom level and inter-house level.
Class assemblies were also conducted virtually every week, wherein students got an experience of recording and
compiling their videos. Special assemblies on Independence Day, Festivals, Gandhi Jayanti, Children's Day,
Christmas, Republic Day etc. were also conducted and organised virtually. P.E, Music, Art and Dance periods
were also included in the timetable, to channelise the energy and creativity of the students.
The students at Middle School undergo a lot of natural changes which sometimes may take a toll on a child's
mind and psychology. This is a time that requires constant support and guidance. Thus, regular virtual
counselling sessions were conducted to help students understand themselves better and welcome the change
positively. Sessions before the online examinations were also conducted to help students prepare wisely and
manage their time properly. Academic honesty, time management, sparking curiosity, understanding differences,
cyberbullying etc. were some of the sessions conducted for the students to help them through the transitions both
natural and academic.
