THE ART OF INNOVATION

‘Change’ we all have come across various changes in our lives. What do you
mean by a change? Well, I define change as a deviation or variation from our
routine life that we follow every day. I also define change as modification.

Modification of orthodox practices, which after undergoes a change can be
               used to our benefits.

As a teacher, in my twelve years of career I have witnessed many of my

colleagues practising old methods of teaching or I shall say the robotic
method of teaching. I have also witnessed those same teachers suffering as
they were unable to get results from their students at the end of the day. In

my career span I have learned numerous things and I also believe that
knowledge is as vast as the ocean which I wish to acquire some day.

Out of the many concepts I have learned, the one concept I believe is

capable of creating great magic is ‘Innovation’. An innovative mind and a
little hard work with a pinch of intelligence and a sprinkle of passion can
               create wonders!

As I learned the value of this concept I started practising it in my work. I
would like to share a personal experience, which is a result of innovation,
               change and modification.

One day, I thought of narrating the story of a famous fable ‘Hansel and
Gretel’ to my students. Now before I began narrating I thought of modifying
it a bit. What I did was I picked some of my students and used their names
instead of the names of the real characters in the story. As the kids heard
their names while I was narrating the story the smile which came across their

faces made me feel ecstatic. They were fully engrossed in the world of
imagination. They were living the fairytale!

After the end of the story the smile which lingered on their faces made me

realise how effective this method is. It made me achieve my target, which
was gaining their absolute interest in the story, which did happen.

A little bit of innovation created dynamic results. It motivated me to culture

my techniques and improve my teaching skills to the maximum so that I can
retrieve the most effective results. This is the magic of innovation; this is the
               magic of change!
