Shivangi Chand - X A

                                                          Whispers of the Rain

                                                          Fog on the horizon,
A faint whisper in the air.

Like the buildup before a crescendo,

But imperceptible to those who do not care.
At first, the voice rises and falls.

I listen, pensive, by the windowsill.
Now it follows a rhythm, like the beat of a heart,
As the rain beats down, with an iron will.

But there is something calming about the chaos,
So I rise from the bed, where I lay.

And despite the cold of my dripping clothes,
I have found a bubble, where I can hide away.

I was lost, reminiscing about happier times,

Shivangi Chand - X A And I heard the voice of the rain.
Crystal clear, the message she wanted to convey,
A new lease on life, an escape from the pain.

                                                                                           Shreya Rajeev - IX C
