Transport Day

Preschoolers love activities that include playing
with all types of transportation items including

vehicles such as cars, trucks, airplanes and more.

This topic is part of their everyday lives. They drive
or walk to school, have seen or ridden on a bus or
flown an airplane to go on vacation. This natural

interest in transportation is something they

experience in their lives and it brings life to the
theme and in the classroom. As a culminating
activity for the theme Transport, Transport Day

was celebrated on 28 February 2020. The transport

set up was done with wooden cutouts of bus,
airplane, auto rickshaw, boat and train. Roads,
traffic light, water for boat, runway for airplane and

tunnel for train were placed to create the

atmosphere. They enacted by walking on the zebra
crossing, sailing boat etc. Children enjoyed playing
and clicking photographs. Some students dressed

up as pilots, sailors, bus driver, auto rickshaw driver

and loco pilot. It was a fun filled activity.
