Reading Week Celebration
In order to inculcate reading habits in students
Reading Week was celebrated. CBSE celebrates the
Reading week to mark the International Literacy
Day celebrated every year on 8th September. To
celebrate this week, various activities were taken up
by the students. Students of classes 1-3 were asked
to dress up as their favourite book character that
they have read. The event took place on 18
September 2020 on the virtual classroom. The
students of classes 1-3 dressed up as their favourite
book character and spoke for a minute stating their
favourite character and what they liked most about
the book. Costume, use of different props and their
dialogues in the script made the activity very
interesting. All the students enthusiastically
participated in the activity. This activity gave them
an opportunity to display their knowledge about
books in a very creative and innovative way. The
effort taken by the students brought the characters
to life. Teachers played the role of facilitators in this
activity. It was aimed at inculcating a love for
reading for pleasure in the students from a young
age. Students enjoyed the activity which was quite
visible from the way they prepared and presented
themselves.

Youth Parliament
Reliance Foundation School Youth Parliament 2021 was organised virtually on Wednesday, 17 March 2021.
The cast included Navya Chopra as the Speaker, Chaitanyaa Sachde as the Secretary General, Aanchal Rath as
the Prime Minister, Abhinav S. Thaker as the leader of the opposition (and writer of this report) and over 50
other dedicated students. The selection process for the same was done democratically, with every single Member
of Parliament having a say in the matter, akin to real life.
The session began with the 'Saraswati vandana'. Our Principal Mr. Alok Katdare shared his views and
encouraged the students for taking initiatives like Youth Parliament. Dr. Mahesh Bhagwat, Head of Department
of Political Science at the renowned Mithibai College, Vile Parle was the Chief Guest.
The session lasted for 1 hour and 24 minutes. Speeches were delivered by Dr. Bhagwat and the leadership team.
The session was divided into three phases: The question hour lasted for 15 minutes in total, with various
members of the opposition questioning and interrogating the Minister regarding relevant matters. The
presentation hour lasted for a total of 30 minutes, with two bills being presented namely, the Purvanchal Project
Bill and the Women Empowerment Bill,
The Call to Attention Motion was perhaps the most exciting and definitely the most heated argument of the day.
Miss Shreya Rajeev, the anchor, said a few words of praise and then requested Dr Mahesh Bhagwat (The Chief
Guest) and Mr. Radhakrishnan Mattiyil (The Head of Administration) to share their thoughts and insights.
They were full of praise and thoroughly appreciated the hard work of the students. Dr Bhagwat even went on to say that
the quality of the session was near unparalleled and the students of RFSKK were worthy competitors on any stage.
Mr. Radhakrishnan Mattiyil (The Head of Administration) praised the students for staging a wonderful
discussion and hoped that they would do even better next time.
