         DESK






         It gives me immense pleasure to share with you the fifth edition of Zenith, the School
         Magazine. The academic year 2019-20 was notable for academic prowess, innumerable

         achievements, well-organised school events and activities. Although the academic year
         witnessed remarkable achievements, the end of the year was hit by the headwinds of the
         pandemic. In no time, the school pivoted to seamless digital teaching and learning on
         Microsoft Teams for Education platform providing the students with an engaging

         educational experience. The response of our teaching and non-teaching staff to ensure
         that our academic goals are not compromised, especially under such trying circumstances,
         is inspiring. Our curriculum and the core values we hold ensure quality education and
         holistic  development for  all the  students  to nurture  them into creative  thinkers of

         tomorrow.Reliance Foundation School continues to grow, wins accolades and provides its
         students with a wide and rich variety of invaluable learning experiences.


         I am delighted to share that our school is ranked the Number 2 School in Navi Mumbai,

         16th in Maharashtra state and 59th in India in the 14th Annual Survey of the Education
         World India School Rankings (EWISR) 2020-21.


         I am proud to announce that our Fourth Batch of Class 10 secured 100% results in the All

         India Secondary School Examination 2020. Sumit Kaushik and Devansh Sanghvi shared
         the First position in the school with a score of 96.4%. The Second Position in the school
         was secured by Pranav Rao with a score of 96.2%, followed by Aditya Deshpande
         achieving the Third Position with a score of 96%. The school average score is 85.26%.

         Out of the total 92 students who appeared in the Board Examination, 77 students
         recorded Distinctions by scoring 75% and above. 41 students scored 90% and above. 16
         students together achieved 16 perfect 100s in Mathematics, Sanskrit, Hindi an d Marathi.
         61 students together achieved 182 A1 Grades across various subjects.

         achieved outstanding results in the All India Senior School Certificate Examination 2020.
         Akanksha Sharma, the school topper and topper in the Commerce Stream, secured 97%;

         whereas Preethika Easwaramurthy and Mohnish Mehta with scores of 96.4% and 95.2%
         secured the Second Position and Third Position respectively. In the Science Stream,
         Vedant Singh secured the First Position by achieving 96.4%. The Second Position is
         secured by Garvit Shah with a score of 96.2%. Sarrah Nayar with 96% becomes the Third

         Highest scorer in the stream. A total of 97 students appeared in the Board Examination
         this year – 68 from Science Stream, 26 from Commerce Stream and 3 students in Skill
         Subject Stream. 35 students scored 90% and above; whereas 78 students recorded
         Distinctions by scoring  75% and above. 67 students have together achieved 166 A1

         Grades in various subject.  The Commerce Stream posted a school average score of 87.1%,
         whereas the school average for the Science Stream was at 83.8%.


         Our students excel in their areas of interest and expertise and we take great pride in their

         achievements. Throughout the year, our students represented  the  school  in sports,
         academic and co-curricular events at the district, state and national levels. Some of the
         major achievements of the year are: Bhaskar Hurkat of Class 11 won the Kishore
         Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) Scholarship 2019. In the International Commerce

         Olympiad, Caslynn Naha of class 12 secured 145th rank with a 96.70% percentile and
         Anurag Konar of class 11 secured 216th rank with a 95.60% percentile. Anurag Konar
         also won a scholarship worth Rs 1500/- in the Global Economics Olympiad. Neeheka
         Amit Luthra of class 9 and Pari Kulkarni of class 8 secured the first position in Imagescape

         Creative Writing in the Creativity Conclave 2019 organised by B. K. Birla Public School,
         Kalyan. Kavita Rana of class 11 won the Best Speaker - Extempore title in the "Voice the
         Vote" (Debate) Competition. In the Creativity Conclave (BSK-MUN) 2019-20, Sahil
         Agarwal of class 12, Ashvin Nair and Pranav Rao of class 10 were adjudged as the

         Delegates of High Commendation. Aditya Deshpande of class 10 received the title, the
         Delegate with Special Mention. Aditya Jindal of class 10 was awarded the Verbal
         Commendation.



         While our students won us laurels across many disciplines, our teachers were not far
         behind. Seven of our teachers brought great pride to the school with their outstanding
         performance at the Centre for Teacher Accreditation (CENTA) Teaching Professionals'
         Olympiad (TPO).



         Our students participate extensively in community service activities and outreach
         programmes. To recognise the efforts of the housekeeping and bus staff and to thank
         them, Gratitude Day was celebrated by organising a special assembly for them by the

         students on 15 February 2020. The students of class 12 initiated a cleanliness drive in the
         mangrove areas adjacent to Mini Seashore in Vashi, Navi Mumbai. The students cleaned

































       up the plastic debris and garbage and also created awareness on waste segregation, thereby

       inspiring the nearby residents also to be a part of the drive.


       A donation of Rs 1,26,600 to the Chief Minister's Relief Fund was made for the
       flood-affected people of Maharashtra.  The staff as well as the students contributed the

       generous amount and took a virtuous step in helping the people in need.  Empathy
       projects under SEWA (Social Empowerment through Work Education and Action), as a
       part of the CBSE programme, were undertaken by the students of secondary and senior
       secondary school by visiting orphanages, old age homes and animal shelters.



       As a part of Swachh Survekshan League 2020, our students exhibited the vital value of
       cleanliness by taking up the activities in their neighbourhood such as; street play or a skit
       or  a cleanliness drive  in their  society and the public  park. Various  activities were

       conducted in Reliance Foundation School, Koparkhairane from 1 September 2019 to 15
       September 2019 to mark the Swachchata Pakhwada –The Cleanliness Drive with an
       intense focus on the practices of Swachhata.



       Fit India Week was celebrated from 25 November 2019 to 30 November 2019 with an aim
       to encourage the students to instil physical activity and sports in their everyday routine.
       Various physical fitness activities like yoga, Zumba, freehand exercises, fitness assessment
       etc. were conducted. Under the Fit India School Ranking system, the school secured a Fit

       India Flag and 3-star rating, based on the fitness levels of the students and teachers,
       infrastructure available and their participation in fitness activities.


       Reliance Foundation School celebrated its Sixth Annual Day on 23 January 2020 with

       great splendour and magnificence in the school ground. It was woven around the theme
       ‘“Virasat – Let’s create a New Tomorrow” which conveyed the importance of imbibing
       values from India’s glorious past.  The school was privileged by the presence of Shri Manoj
       Kumar Srivastava, Director, Professional Examinations, Central Board of Secondary

       Education as the distinguished Chief Guest.


       The Annual School Exhibition "Earth- An Inspiration“ interspersed with displays and
       performances that gave a message to treat nature with responsibility. The students put up

       informative and eye-catching exhibits which brought out enigmatic pieces of facts from
       the resplendent diversity of Earth in the exhibition which was held on 29 July 2019. The
       Exhibition was indeed unique since it encompassed the analytical, ingenious, logical and
       creative bents of our students. Dr A N Bhagwat, Chairman of Navi Mumbai Science

       Foundation, graced the event as the Chief Guest.


       Our school attains its eminence and reputation in the first place through the achievement



































     of our students. Continuous progress through collective actions and aspirations helps us to
     spur higher growth and holistic development. The stimulating and robust environment
     inspires our students to work hard and believe in their own unlimited learning and
     achievement possibilities. With the state-of-the-art infrastructure, the school does

     everything in its capacity to instil the right values and inculcate the 21st century skills in
     students by giving them every opportunity to excel in academics, arts, sports and co-curricular
     activities. By incorporating life skills and art integrated activities in the curriculum, the school

     empowers the students to develop the right aptitude and competencies.


     I express my deep sense of gratitude to Smt. Nita M. Ambani, Founder and Chairperson of
     Reliance  Foundation,  for her  visionary leadership, and  for inspiring us  to create  high
     standards of learning experiences for our students by providing equal opportunities in sports

     and academics. Our school’s every initiative is a result of her belief in the power of education.


     I am  extremely grateful to Shri Sanjay Mashruwala, Chairman, School Management

     Committee, for the constant and unstinting support from time-to-time which helps us to
     further our commitment to our ideals.  I am extremely grateful to Mr VP Joy, Member,
     School Management Committee, for always guiding us to envision the school culture and
     ethos, and inspiring us to work towards to realise them.



     I would like to acknowledge the many contributions, dedication and commitment of the
     leadership team which makes our school so successful. My deep appreciation to my
     colleagues, Head of Administration, Mr Radhakrishnan Mattiyil, Vice Principal, Ms

     Shalini Garg and Headmistress, Ms Kusha Sharma.


     Our teachers have always been the true pillars of our school but what has also been
     noteworthy is the excellent support and commitment of the non-teaching staff. I thank
     the coordinators and teachers for guiding the students in all facets, for their well-rounded

     development. I express my sincere thanks to our administrative and support staff for their
     hands-on support and dedication.



     We are indeed fortunate to have such understanding, cooperative and supportive parents.
     I thank all the parents for believing in us, our students and what we do. Parents’ support
     gives us the strength, determination and opportunity to achieve greater things.
     I express my heartfelt thanks to each and every one for supporting us in achieving our
     collective dream of building a safe and happy school. Take a moment to review our many

     points of pride from the year gone by.
