A million words aren’t enough to articulate the multiple emotions that I was feeling
when the class 10 CBSE Board examination results were announced. I remember I was
in school when the results were declared and I could not wait to go home and log into
the website to check my percentage. I was on pins and needles but at the same time I
had faith in myself, I knew that my hard work would pay off.
I was stunned to see “98.6%” written next to my name. I scored a perfect hundred in
Mathematics and English, which happen to be my favourite subjects. I was filled with
so much gratitude towards my teachers, parents, and even my friends, it was not only
because of my hard work but also because of their support and guidance that I got such
good marks and was ranked first in my school. My teachers put so much effort into
preparing me and my classmates for our examinations. They provided us with numerous
worksheets and sample question papers and solving them got me acquainted with
various types of questions and also taught me how to formulate my answers. Attending
online school for the entirety of our 9th and 10th grade and then being called to give
board examinations offline was something that made all of us agitated, as we had lost
touch with the traditional method of giving exams in a classroom. We were all in deep
water but our teachers helped us through it, they made us feel at ease and wanted to
help us with whatever issue we were facing. They were ready to take as many extra
classes and doubt sessions as we required. My parents not only motivated me to study
but also encouraged me to continue with my hobbies such as playing badminton,
reading, cooking and listening to music.
Acing the board examinations is not a long row to hoe if you are regular with your
studies and pay mind to what your teachers and parents say. If you have the knowledge
and enough practice, then there is absolutely nothing that can stop you from scoring
great marks. I was privileged enough to be guided by such benevolent and hardworking
teachers and to have immense support of my parents. One thing I learnt from the exams
is that, your hard work always bears fruit, if not now then later, but the amount of effort
you put into something never goes in vain.
