CBSE ‘Shiksha Saptah’ Celebration
KDARFS celebrated Shiksha Saptah from July 22 to July 28, 2024, following the guidelines provided by CBSE. This week-long celebration was filled with a series of engaging and educational activities aimed at enhancing the learning experience and fostering community involvement among students. Below is a summary of the activities conducted each day.
The celebration began with Teaching-Learning Material (TLM) Day, focusing on the importance of interactive and engaging teaching tools in the learning process with different activities organized across different grades.
The second day saw the celebration of Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN) Day, emphasizing the importance of literacy and numeracy skills at the foundational stage of education. The activities were designed to ensure each child attains essential reading and math skills. The day included various initiatives such as teacher training, community engagement, and multilingual approaches to foster an inclusive and integrated learning environment.
The third day was dedicated to promoting sports and fitness among students. Activities aimed at enhancing awareness about the importance of sports, fostering indigenous games, and instilling a sense of team spirit and discipline were conducted.
On the fourth day, Cultural Day was celebrated to showcase India's rich cultural heritage and its connection to nature. The day featured various activities, including a special assembly with theatre performances, songs in different languages, and a skit based on Gujarati folk form Bhavai. Students also enjoyed Garba and Kashmiri folk dance performances. A slogan-writing activity on "Unity in Diversity" and a heritage exhibition displaying Gujarat's food, fabrics, and art forms were also organized.
The fifth day focused on equipping students with new skills and embracing digital initiatives. The activities conducted aimed to prepare students for a competitive workforce, enhance digital literacy, and provide practical knowledge of soil science and agriculture.
The sixth day featured a meaningful plantation activity themed Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam" organized by the ECO Club. Students, their mothers, teachers, and the principal participated in planting various saplings in the school grounds. This activity aimed to foster environmental awareness, strengthen family bonds, and encourage community involvement.
The week-long celebration concluded with Community Involvement Day, focusing on fostering collaboration between the school and local communities. Various activities were organized to encourage social and emotional well-being and prepare an ecosystem for skill development. The day included a career counselling session for senior secondary students, the "Let’s Move India" campaign to promote sports awareness, visits to a blind school and an old age home to foster empathy and compassion, and a community eating event to enhance social interaction among students and teachers.
KDARFS's Shiksha Saptah successfully showcased the importance of education, community involvement, and the holistic development of students. The week-long celebration provided valuable learning experiences and fostered a sense of responsibility, teamwork, and cultural appreciation among students.
