Formation of 75
75 Years of India's Independence is celebrated at Reliance Foundation School, Koparkhairane through week-long activities and festivities highlighting our country's rich culture and heritage. On Monday, 8 August 2022, the students of class 5 created a formation in the shape of 75 on the basketball court and sang the national song 'Vandemataram' simultaneously. The number 75 symbolised the 75 years of Independence of our country. The students who were singing the song were dressed up in the traditional attire of the Tricolours orange, white and green. The students who stood in the figure of the number 75 were holding and waving the flag when the song was being sung. The song sung in unison and the waving of the flag made the environment very soothing and colourful at the same time. The sense of pride felt for the country was clearly visible in the eyes of the students. It was an exhilarating performance to witness.Guest Lecture by Commander Aparnesh Mitra (Retd.)
As a part of 75 years of Independence week celebrations, Commander Aparnesh Mitra (Retd.) was invited to address the students of classes 9 to 12 in two batches on Wednesday, 10 August 2022. The title of the talk was "Students as Change Markers". The alumnus of the 92nd Course, National Defence Academy spoke about his journey from the NDA days to controlling 3 Lakh Jio Towers. He shared with the students the importance of discipline, the aura of the defence officers, the mindset for which the cadets are trained at the NDA and how each one is "the selected one". Quoting a few anecdotes of his life, he highlighted the manner in which defence gives you the opportunity to expand your horizons.He gave several examples of how our life is as much at risk by living in a civil setting as in a safe defence environment. He explained to the students the glory of the NDA and how several educational institutes in India are still learning from the training given at the defence academies. He shares that being in the "Fauj" empowers you for a better life, and a better future and thus selecting the elite section of the society would definitely change our perspective towards life. He quoted, "Soldier is a noun as well as an adjective". He connected with students by addressing them as "soldiers". His talk was filled with the fire of excitement and intrinsic motivation. He explained the step-by-step procedure of joining the armed forces and the benefits of being a part of the armed forces. He encouraged the students to reach out of their comfort zones and explore more about being in the defence. It was an enriching experience for the students to know about the various opportunities that NDA offers.
Interhouse Board Decoration Competition
Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav is an initiative of the Government of India to commemorate India's 75 years of Independence and celebrate the people of India, their spirit and achievements, and pay tribute to the rich cultural heritage of the country.Reliance foundation school, in an effort to contribute to this movement, organised an Inter House board making competition on the topic Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.
The students of grade 6 to 8 participated in the competition. Students were carefully selected and assigned tasks. The competition was meticulously planned by selecting two students per class summing up to 6 students per house. The students came up with remarkable ideas far beyond expectation. The zeal and enthusiasm exhibited by the students was commendable.
This competition provided an opportunity to schoolchildren to exhibit their creative skills.
Class Assembly of 12C-Quit India Movement
"In the democracy which I have envisaged, a democracy established by non-violence, there will be equal freedom for all. Everybody will be his own master. It is to join a struggle for such democracy that I invite you today." This was Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi's vision when he launched the Quit India movement in August 1942 at the All-India Congress committee session in Bombay on 8th August, 1942. The very next day, Gandhi, Nehru and many other leaders of the Indian National Congress were arrested by the British Government.On 10th August 2022, Class 12 C presented their class assembly under the guidance of their class teacher Mr Mukesh Sharma. The assembly that had the theme of the "Quit India Movement" revolved around the concepts of freedom, self-governance and patriotism. The morning assembly celebrated 80 years of this event that occurred on 8th August, 1942. Riddhi Dinesh and Sandesh Punjabi anchored the event. It began with the school prayer which was followed by the thought of the day by Chaitanya Rustogi, word for the day by Prisha Waikar and updates about current happenings by Krishn Damani, Ameya Chansarkar, Vaibhav Mathur and Brijesh Rajpurohit. A thought-provoking student’s speech was orated by Pushti Kabra that centred around the Quit India Movement and what youth can still learn from it 80 years later. Miss Padma Sirohi delivered the teacher's talk, awakening the patriotic expression of the students. Later, Rebecca Bobby, Kritika Goyal, Nishka Moghe, and Shruti Wahi recited a powerfully evocative poem, stirring the audience. All the acts of the assembly were brought to a strong close with a vivid mime performance by Alex Konthoujam, Ansh Satyajit, Anshuman Sharma, Mihir Mohit, Parth Gupta, Piyush Rawat, Shaurya Agarwal, and Parth Gupta. This was followed by a stimulating address by the Honourable Vice Principal Ms Shalini Garg. The assembly concluded with the singing of the National Anthem.
