EUNOIA - CELEBRATING THE SPIRIT OF GROWTH - Annual Day 2024-25

Reliance Foundation School, Lodhivali, celebrated its Annual Day on 17th January 2025 with grandeur, unfolding the theme EUNOIA—Celebrating the Spirit of Growth. The event highlighted students' creativity and growth mindset through vibrant performances in music, dance, and drama. The program emphasized values such as social responsibility, education, women empowerment, ethical AI use, and resilience. The Chief Guest lauded the theme’s relevance, and achievers were felicitated. Two lively genies led the audience on a journey exploring Eunoia’s essence, culminating in a patriotic rendition of Vande Mataram, leaving a profound impact on all.

National Mathematics Day 2024

Mathematics is the poetry of logical ideas. – Albert Einstein

RFSLEM celebrated National Mathematics Day on 23rd December 2024, honouring Srinivasa Ramanujan and his massive contribution to Mathematics with a day of immersive and creative activities. The primary section transformed learning into fun as the students celebrated Mathematics Week with number tree sliders, play currency shopping, tangrams, and puzzles, fostering logic and creativity. Students of middle section brought math to life through engaging activities like interactive BINGO game on integers and factors, designing posters on Great Indian Mathematicians, and enacting thoughtful skits on profit, loss, and compound interest whereas the secondary and senior secondary students explored Ramanujan’s genius through insightful presentations, a documentary screening, and an engaging assembly talk with challenging puzzles. In a nutshell, the celebrations turned mathematics into an exciting journey of discovery, leaving students inspired and eager to explore its wonders.

Christmas Celebration 2024

Christmas is not as much about opening presents as opening our hearts, Pre-primary section rejoiced the Christmas festivities on 24th December 2024 as they immersed themselves in the joy of love, kindness, and generosity. The celebration began with a storytelling session, followed by melodious carols that filled the air with festive cheer. Students displayed their creativity through craft activities, making decorations like stars, Santa hats, and flowers, which adorned the school campus. A delightful Santa’s Corner added to the excitement, with children dressed as Santa, elves, and reindeer and shared holiday wishes. A special assembly was conducted by the Primary section students to enlighten them about this festival. On a happier note, Santa visited every class bringing joy and cheers thus beautifully capturing the true spirit of Christmas.

Knowledge Fest 2024

RFSLEM's Knowledge Fest 2024, a maiden venture into showcasing creativity and innovation, was celebrated on 21st December 2024.The event, inaugurated by RIL PMD Chairman Mr Rangarajan and Ms Srividya Rangarajan,  perfectly embodied the National Curriculum Framework's Panchkosha, the vision of holistic development. Additionally, it served as a remarkable tribute to the boundless potential of our young and inquisitive minds.

The tiny tots of pre-primary showcased key learning domains, including cognitive development with shape puzzles, socio-emotional growth through puppet activities, physical skills via Brain Gym, language development with vowel sounds and CVC games, and creative expression through projects on animals and homes.

The Primary section ventured in STEAM, Coding, and Design Thinking that aligned with the digital transcendence.  The Math Garden offered hands-on problem-solving, while an impactful enactment on superstition championed scientific thinking. Integrated activities such as 'Food and Directions' went beyond textbooks, while 'Story Pedagogy' used storytelling to teach science and social studies concepts. Interactive games connected social emotional learning with PE. DIY models such as microscopes and water dispensers brought practical learning to life, while language tools enriched communication.

The Performing Arts Theatre added vibrancy with Nukkad Natak, dance dramas, and live music, making the Knowledge Fest a true celebration of education’s transformative power and limitless possibilities.

Annual Sports Meet 2024-25

Every champion was once a contender who refused to give up. This powerful belief resonated through RFSLEM's Annual Sports Meet, held on 7th December 2024. The event was a tribute to perseverance, determination, and the unyielding spirit of students across all sections.

The Pre-primary and Primary students delighted everyone with their unfiltered energy, while the Secondary and Senior Secondary participants showcased grit and determination in various track and field events. The true essence of sportsmanship was captured through their honest efforts and competitive spirit.

Chief Guest Mr S. Rangarajan addressed the gathering with words that struck a chord, recognizing the students' dedication and encouraging them to persevere. The day wasn’t just about winning or losing—it was about pushing boundaries and embracing the journey of becoming champions.

Career and University Fair 2024

RFSLEM was transformed into a hub of exploration and discovery on November 16, 2024, as it hosted the much-anticipated Career and University Fair for students of classes 8 to 12. The event opened doors to a world of higher education opportunities as it brought students, parents, teachers, and esteemed representatives from 33 universities under one roof. The fair saw enthusiastic participation from schools like RFS Nagothane, RFS Koparkhairne, Gurukul International, St. Pallotti, and others. Insightful sessions by esteemed speakers on Transition from School to University, Navigating Careers in AI, and Entrepreneurship as a Career, offered students valuable insights into future opportunities and inspired them to embrace innovation and growth. Students explored booths of 24 Indian and 9 international universities to gain clarity on academic and career pathways. All in all, the Career and University Fair underscored the school’s commitment to empowering students for informed decision-making and lifelong success, setting a benchmark for meaningful engagement and future-ready education.

The School Innovation Council of RFSLEM, with support from RFSAC Academic Lead Dr Bibhuti Biswal, organized a guest lecture by esteemed scientist Dr A.P. Jayaraman on 12th November 2024 for students of Classes VIII, IX, and XI. A renowned nuclear scientist and science communicator, Dr Jayaraman captivated the young audience to explore crucial topics such as the Circular Economy, Foundational Literacy and Numeracy, Sustainability and SDG goals. He skillfully integrated scientific concepts with real-world applications, engaging students with thought-provoking discussions on climate change, sustainable fashion and critical thinking. His interactive approach captivated the audience, sparking curiosity and inspiring active participation. On a positive note, the event succeeded in encouraging students to embrace a more responsible and informed way of life.

Primary Section Talent Hunt 2024

The Talent Hunt for Grades 1 to 5 aimed to discover and encourage students with exceptional skills. In the final round, students showcased their chosen talent in categories including Solo Singing, Solo Dancing, Recitation, Elocution and Playing Instruments. A Miscellaneous Category was also available for unique talents like Ring Dance, Airwalk, and Rubik’s Cube-solving. With 89 participants, the event was a vibrant display of creativity and enthusiasm. The Talent Hunt successfully identified and motivated young talents, inspiring students to pursue their interests and build confidence through performance.

Inter School Model United Nations Conference 2024

Twelve students from RFSLEM participated in the 4th Inter School RFSKK Model United Nations Conference on 19th and 20th October 2024, representing various countries across three committees. Engaging in debates on critical global issues like climate change, food insecurity, and neo-colonialism, the delegates displayed exceptional diplomatic and public speaking skills. Notably, Tanmay Birnale earned Outstanding Delegate for his representation of Russia in UNEP, while Tanisha Mahajan and Yatharth Bhat received Special Mention awards for their roles as delegates of India in UNEP and China in UNHRC, respectively. Their achievements reflect their dedication and skill, bringing pride to our institution and underscoring their growth as global citizens.

Reliance Foundation School, Lodhivali English Medium, ignited a blaze of creativity and innovation with its annual IDEATHON on Saturday, October 19, 2024. The event, a showcase of scientific brilliance, technological prowess, design thinking acumen, and entrepreneurial spirit, captivated the audience, comprising fellow students and proud parents.

The grand opening ceremony was graced by the esteemed presence of Mr. S Rangarajan, the distinguished Site President of RIL Patalganga Plant. His inspiring words set the tone for the day, encouraging young minds to dream big and strive for excellence.

The exhibition floor was a vibrant tapestry of ingenuity, showcasing a diverse range of projects crafted by students from grades 6 to 12. From mind-boggling scientific experiments to cutting-edge technological solutions, the projects were a testament to the students' boundless creativity and problem-solving abilities.

The event was not merely a display of academic prowess but also a celebration of collaborative learning and interdisciplinary thinking. Students from various streams worked together, blending their unique perspectives to create innovative solutions to real-world challenges.

Parents and the chief guest alike were effusive in their praise, lauding the students for their exceptional work and the school for fostering such a stimulating learning environment. The event was a resounding success, leaving a lasting impression on all who attended.

World Mental Health Day 2024

Mental health plays a crucial role in shaping how we think, act, and connect with the world, making it a fundamental part of our overall well-being. Recognizing this, Reliance Foundation School, Lodhivali EM, held a week-long event, Mind Matters: Recharge and Revitalize, from October 3rd to 10th, 2024, to celebrate World Mental Health Day. Organized by the caring Student Care Services (SCS) team, the initiative created a space for students and staff to focus on emotional well-being and mindfulness. The week was filled with engaging activities like Zumba, mandala art, and meditation. A guest session by clinical psychologist Mrs. Arya Dhembre on The Science of Notifications and Mindfulness offered valuable insights. Students embraced laughter yoga, mindful coloring, and brain gym exercises, all designed to nurture a well-rounded, mindful approach to mental health.

Suhana Safar 2024

The Suhana Safar activity was celebrated at the Civic Centre for the students of Pre-primary section. The event aimed to enhance children's understanding of different modes of transport while promoting vocabulary and social interaction related to it. It featured a variety of activities, including dance, show and tell, rhyme recitation, PowerPoint presentations, street plays, and skits. The program began with LKG-A’s vibrant dance on traffic lights, followed by LKG-B’s show and tell with creative props, and LKG-C’s transport rhyme. UKG students also contributed wonderfully, with UKG-A presenting a PowerPoint on The Invention of Wheels, UKG-B performing a street play on road safety, and UKG-C staging an engaging skit on road signs and safety rules. Additionally, the children’s artistic side was showcased through hands-on art and craft activities, 3D models, and scrapbook displays. The event was a joyful and meaningful learning experience, successfully meeting its objectives by fostering language development, creativity, and road safety awareness among the young learners.

Hindi Divas 2024

Hindi is the script of our culture, and every word carries the legacy of our ancestors.

Students at RFSLEM explored this deep connection through engaging activities on account of Hindi Divas. Our young learners of the pre-primary section delighted the audience with rhymes on nature and an emotional skit on friendship in the native language. Students from classes I to V continued the celebration on October 8, 2024 as they brought Hindi to life through vibrant performances that featured a lively dance and a thoughtful skit on Varnamala. An exciting Inter-house Hindi Debate Competition was organized on October 11, 2024 for classes VI to VIII , where participants captivated the audience with their eloquence and insightful arguments as they debated whether clothing defines personality.  All in all, students experienced the connection to their national language and took pride in the rich Indian culture.

Dussehra Celebration 2024

The Dussehra celebration was organized to introduce young children of Pre-primary section to the cultural significance of the festival, developing an understanding of its traditions and values. The event featured various activities, including Paati Pujan, where children offered prayers to study materials expressing gratitude for knowledge. Nine girls participated in a Navdurga Presentation, dressed as different forms of Goddess Durga, with teachers explaining their attributes. A puppet show was put up by the teachers introducing the students to the characters of the Ramayan. A Garba dance session was held for both Pre-primary and Primary Section, students were attired in traditional fineries and enthusiastically performed simple dance steps. Special assembly was conducted for the primary section showcasing the significance of Navratri. The celebration successfully promoted cultural awareness, creativity, and teamwork, creating a meaningful and enjoyable experience for all participants.

RFSLEM believes in offering the best learning experiences to our young minds through a wide array of activities. On 5th October 2024, the school had organized an educational field trip to Khalapur Police Station and Nadhal Temple for classes I to II that offered students a hands-on experience of civic awareness and cultural appreciation. At the police station, students explored the workings of law enforcement. Additionally, a lady officer conducted a session on personal safety, discussing good touch and bad touch, emergency helpline numbers, and their appropriate use. Furthermore, the visit to Nadhal Temple enriched their understanding of spiritual spaces, where they admired the temple’s architecture and participated in worship rituals. On a positive note, the field trip highlighted the importance of community helpers and respecting diverse faiths among the students.

Gandhi Jayanti Celebration 2024

The Swachhata Hi Sewa campaign, held from 1st October to 3rd October 2024, was a significant initiative in the school that aimed at promoting cleanliness and Gandhian principles among students. The Pre-primary section actively participated in classroom cleaning under teacher supervision, learning the importance of cleanliness through songs, slogans, and stories. The Primary section honoured Gandhiji with a special assembly led by classes IIA and IIB, which included a skit on Gandhian values, a musical play, and a movie about Gandhi. Students made Thank You cards for community helpers and participated in a rally, slogan writing, and a cleanliness drive, reflecting Gandhiji’s ideals of truth, non-violence, and dignity of labour. A puppet show further reinforced these themes. The Middle section engaged in various creative and educational activities, such as poetry composition, dialogue on cleanliness, painting, and slogan writing. Students also took part in a special assembly, where they pledged to maintain cleanliness, and Class VIII conducted a tree plantation drive titled Ek-Ped-Maa-Ke-Naam. Across all sections, the campaign successfully instilled a sense of responsibility towards maintaining a clean environment and respecting Gandhian principles of simplicity and community service.

Celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi 2024

Ganesh Chaturthi marks the birth of Lord Ganesha who is considered as the God of wealth, knowledge, wisdom and prosperity. Capturing the essence of this jubilant festival, RFSLEM welcomed Lord Ganesha with vibrant activities across sections. Pre-Primary students, dressed in traditional attire, participated in storytelling, bhajans, and a special assembly. Furthermore, a captivating animated movie on Bal Ganesha, deepened their spiritual connection with the festival. Awakening their devotion for their favourite Bappa, our young Picassos of classes I to III explored their creativity by drawing and coloring images of Lord Ganesha, while the students from classes IV and V sculpted elegant clay idols of Lord Ganpati seated on decorative thrones, blending tradition with hands-on artistry. On a positive note, the celebration fostered cultural awareness, artistic expression, and teamwork, leaving a lasting impact on the students as they embraced the spirit of Ganesh Chaturthi.

National Sports Day 2024

On 29th August 2024, our school celebrated National Sports Day by following the Olympic Value Education Program (OVEP), inspired by Mrs. Neeta Ambani's vision of hosting the Olympic Games in India. The event was organized across three categories: primary, secondary, and senior secondary. For the primary and middle sections, the values of the Olympic Games and the importance of OVEP were explained, with a video and PPT presentation on Major Dhyan Chand's life, his game, and his contributions to hockey. Senior secondary students engaged in volleyball and badminton matches, promoting Olympic values under various age categories, fostering sportsmanship and the spirit of the Games.

Inter-House Spelling Competition 2024-25

This profound insight by Wittgenstein perfectly encapsulates the essence of the Inter-House Spelling Bee Competition hosted by the English Literary Club on 28th August 2024 at the Civic Center. The event aimed to push the boundaries of students' linguistic abilities, empowering them to expand their horizons through language. Designed to enrich vocabulary, enhance spelling and pronunciation skills, foster teamwork, develop quick thinking, and build confidence in public speaking, the competition featured six challenging rounds. Each round tested different aspects of language proficiency, from spelling accuracy to understanding word origins, helping students broaden the limits of their language—and, by extension, the limits of their world. On a positive note, Inter-House Spelling Bee successfully reinforced the importance of words in English language.

Celebration of Krishna Janmashtami 2024

Gokul Ashtami, also known as Krishna Janmashtami, is a major Hindu festival that celebrates the birth of Lord Krishna. Krishna is a beloved deity who symbolizes love, compassion, and protection. Capturing the spirit of the Gokul Ashtami, Pre-primary students immersed themselves in the festivities on 26th August 2024. Draped in vibrant attires of Radha and Krishna, the students zealously participated in a wide range of activities featuring shloka recitations, lively dances and the playful Dahi Handi. To sum up, the celebration helped the tiny tots to deepen their understanding of devotion, cultural values and community bonding.

National Space Day 2024

"Touching Lives while Touching the Moon" - an inspiring theme set the stage for the National Space Day 2024 celebration at RFSLEM on August 23, 2024, honouring India's extraordinary journey in space exploration and showcasing the nation’s significant contributions under ISRO's leadership. Organized by the Science Club, the event engaged students from Classes VI to XI in a variety of activities, including painting, model-making, and digital brochure creation.

An informative display known as "Wall of Cosmic Journey" highlighted ISRO’s milestones while the civic center was transformed into space themed exhibition. Awareness about student programs like YUVIKA, UNNATI, School Bhuvan NCERT, and the Student Satellite Program, specially designed to inspire future space scientists, was created among the students. An engaging quiz prepared by Class XI students tested the knowledge of younger students, further deepening their understanding of India’s space achievements. The day concluded with an insightful assembly, on India’s space missions. In a nutshell, the celebration left the students inspired about the profound impact of space exploration on society and their potential role in its future.

RFSLEM’s Got Talent 2024

Genius is the gold in the mine; talent is the miner that works and brings it out. Every student at Middle School echoed the above sentiment as they fervently participated in RFSLEM’s Got Talent 2024 on August 17, 2024.The event served as a dynamic platform for students to unearth and showcase their unique abilities in music and dance. After initial class-level competitions, forty-four finalists competed in categories such as solo singing, solo dance, and instrumental performance. The finalists stole the show with their mesmerizing acts as they impressed the judges and audience equally. All in all, the event highlighted the exceptional talent of our budding artists reinforcing the school's commitment to recognize and celebrate every student's potential.

Independence Day Celebration 2024

The school celebrated Independence Day with inspiring events, starting with the hoisting of the national flag and the national anthem, followed by cultural performances, including a patriotic song. President Mr. S. Rangarajan, RIL Patalganga, delivered a motivational speech on the importance of freedom and the responsibilities it entails, urging students to contribute actively to the nation’s progress. The event also featured an impressive Art and Craft exhibition ‘Kalanubhuti’ which displayed exemplary students' work in drawing, painting and craft work. Another segment was chart display, which were on key themes that resonated with the progress and development of our nation, including Women Empowerment, Industrial Development, Development in Education, and Agriculture in India. The students eloquently discussed how each of these sectors has evolved over the years, highlighting India's journey towards becoming a self-reliant and progressive nation.

In the Pre-primary and Primary sections, the celebration on 14th August allowed students to express their love and pride for the nation. Pre-primary students participated in patriotic songs, slogans, dances, and speeches. In the Primary section, students from Classes IV and V portrayed India’s unsung freedom fighters in special assembly. An Interclass Patriotic Singing Competition further showcased students' talents, fostering collaboration and healthy competition.

Inter-House Science Quiz Competition And Incredible India Integrated Quiz 2024-25

With the goal of nurturing a relentless spirit of inquiry and fostering scientific temper, an Inter-house Science Quiz Competition was organized for students of classes VI to VIII on 31st July 2024. The event featured five rounds of challenging questions, where Eagles House triumphed with 195 points. The quiz garnered enthusiastic participation from both contestants and the audience.

Building on this spirit of intellectual exploration, the "Incredible India Integrated Quiz 2024-25" was conducted on 13th August 2024 for primary students from classes I to V. The quiz, designed to delve into India's rich cultural heritage, history, and achievements, comprised six diverse rounds. After the thrilling final round, Eagles were adjudged the winners. The event deepened students' appreciation of India's diversity.

Investiture Ceremony 2024

On 7th August 2024, RFSLEM celebrated its tradition of leadership and responsibility with the Investiture Ceremony at the Civic Centre, a highlight of the school year. The event was a blend of tradition, anticipation, and inspiration as newly elected student leaders were officially inducted.

Excitement buzzed through the crowd as the outgoing student council marched in with drumbeats, ceremoniously passing the baton to the new council members. With flags in hand, the newly appointed leaders took their oaths, affirming their commitment to their roles. The moment was made even more memorable as badges and sashes were handed over, symbolizing the trust and expectations placed upon these young leaders.

The outgoing Head Boy and Head Girl shared their experiences, offering words of wisdom to their successors, who in turn articulated their vision and aspirations for the school. The ceremony, marked by impeccable discipline and heartfelt participation, was a testament to the school’s dedication to nurturing leadership and community values.

In a dynamic session conducted on 7th August 2024, Mr. Pushkar Kanitkar, an accomplished alumnus of RFSLEM and Executive Director at Revolut India, offered profound insights into financial technology and digital banking. Mr. Kanitkar emphasized the importance of adaptability and continuous learning to his target audience comprising of students from classes VIII to XII. He highlighted the evolving careers in fintech, the critical role of risk management and compliance, and the necessity of soft skills. Furthermore, the engaging Q&A session further enriched the students' understanding and aspirations.

Vanamahotsav 2024

To plant a tree is to plant a hope and to plant a garden is to believe in tomorrow.

Students from classes IX and X participated in a Tagar plantation activity under the Ek Bharat Shreshth Bharat initiative, planting 50 Tagar saplings in the school ground. This activity aimed to foster environmental awareness and motivate students to become environmentally sensitive citizens. Class V students celebrated Vanamahotsav by planting trees, each taking individual responsibility to care for their tree until it grows. They also presented talks, dances, and self-composed poetry related to environmental conservation, highlighting the importance of trees and nature. This initiative not only educated the students about the importance of trees but also encouraged them to take active steps towards environmental conservation.

An engaging and interactive learning environment fulfils a child's natural curiosity and creative urges. Pre-Primary students participated in one such learning experience through the event Body Parts and Sensory Play on 24th June 2024 that helped them to understand sensory organs and personal hygiene. An array of activities encompassing rhymes like Head and Shoulders a hygiene-themed Nukkad Natak, story enactments, and sensory stations encouraged the little cherubs to learn via hands-on activities. Exciting games like treasure hunts and Smell and Tell further stimulated their senses. On a positive note, the event successfully met its objectives of teaching the young ones importance of sense organs and personal hygiene.

Robotics is not just a field of science; it’s a canvas for art, innovation, and progress. – Rodney Brooks

Robogria, a Robotics Workshop cum Competition, in collaboration with the Pillai HOCL Educational Campus was conducted on 30th July 2024. The event targeted students of classes VIII and IX, aiming to ignite their interest in robotics and mechanical engineering.

Mr Mithun Nair, a distinguished faculty member in Mechanics, kicked off the workshop with an insightful presentation on the evolution and applications of robotics.

Following the presentation, students formed teams of ten to compete in assembling Level 1 robots. The competition was intense, focusing on accuracy and speed. Out of 17 teams, two emerged victorious, demonstrating exceptional skill and teamwork.

The winners will advance to the next phase, Level 2, which will be held at the Pillai HOCL Educational Campus. This phase will present further robotic challenges, pushing the students to expand their knowledge and skills in robotics.

Recognized globally, the marathon captivates audiences worldwide. 285 students of RFSLEM enthusiastically participated in this annual event and ran with the inspiring tagline Let’s Move India spreading the Olympic inspiration to be physically fit among students and the people around. The students participated in the event with remarkable enthusiasm and determination. The junior boys and girls, as well as the senior boys and girls, displayed exceptional spirit and sportsmanship throughout the event. Their energy was infectious, and competition was palpable. The event ended with declaration of results in each category.

Ashadhi or Devshayani Ekadashi, a significant Hindu festival was celebrated in the school for the students of Pre-primary and primary sections with great enthusiasm. On the day, the air was filled with devotional feelings with Abhang recitation, Chanting of Shlokas, story-telling, devotional songs and traditional dances. The students were in traditional attire and that added religiousness to the celebration. National Reading Month was celebrated in Reliance Foundation School from 19th June to 18th July 2024 to instill a lifelong love for reading and to honour P.N. Panicker, the father of the Library Movement. An array of engaging activities was conducted throughout the month. The students of class VII performed an entertaining skit during the special assembly highlighting reading as a fundamental skill that stimulates imagination and creativity. STAR – Stop, Take a book And Read period witnessed the enthusiastic participation of students of classes I to XII, along with teachers, as they immersed themselves in the world of their favourite books. Activities such as book reviews, bookmark creation, poster making on reading, and designing book covers were also organized. In a nutshell, the students carried the joy and benefits of reading into their daily lives.

As the World Environment Day campaign 2024 focused on land restoration, desertification and drought resilience under the slogan Our land. Our future. We are #Generation Restoration, the students of classes VI to VIII exhibited their love for nature by coming together on 15 June 2024 to foster a sense of responsibility towards environmental care and protection. As a part of CCA, the future citizens participated in planting Tulsi saplings in the school premises. These tender saplings were provided by the horticulture department of Reliance Township, Lodhivali. Marking a commitment towards sustaining the environment, they pledged to care for the saplings and ensure their growth. They also created beautiful posters underscoring the need of conservation of environment. Overall, the event manifested their commitment towards preserving and nurturing the wonderful nature.

Cherishing the importance of the most loved person in a child's life, a special event was hosted on 15th June 2024 for primary classes I to V. A special Art and Craft activity was conducted where enthusiastic students crafted personalized Father's Day cards, ties, photo frames, and French Fries Box to describe their dads, thus showcasing their love and gratitude towards their superheroes. Bring your Dad to School saw students of classes 1-2 enter school with their fathers. The selfie corner, decorated with an artistic backdrop, added delight as the students along with their fathers enjoyed getting clicked together, capturing the joy and excitement of the day. Taking the celebration, a step further, even the male staff of RFSLEM rejoiced in the festivities of Father’s Day.

The event was a resounding success and provided a meaningful way for the children to express their appreciation and love towards their fathers.

With Lok Sabha Elections around the corner, the students of Class X organized an informative campaign on April 30, 2024, for Classes I to XII, emphasizing the importance of elections and voting. The purpose of the event was to educate the young minds about the importance of elections and persuade their parents to value their vote and cast it responsibly. They created functional models of EVM machines, developed a PowerPoint and video presentation, gave speeches and skits, and led a quiz emphasizing the value of voting, all while demonstrating their inventiveness and commitment to the cause. Overall, the event acted as a reminder of the value of every single vote in a democracy and our shared duty for determining the course of our country.

Reading is an important part of a child’s growth and development. Primary section of RFSLEM organised a Reading Challenge Competition for classes IV – V on 25th April 2024 in the civic centre as a fun way to build strong, confident readers. The content matter to be read by the participants were handpicked from CBSE Reading Mission – Pratham Books’ StoryWeaver.

Eight diligently shortlisted students competed against each other. The competition was divided into 3 rounds and the participants challenged each other in reading. The insight of the judges screened the best 3 readers.

The event helped to build a culture of reading in the school community, to increase book circulation, and to offer insight into the reading habits of students.

As the quote aptly explains, colors play a pivotal role in enhancing the beauty and vibrancy of the natural world. With an aim to promote colour recognition and develop fine motor skills, the CCA activity named Colour Game was organized for the students of pre-primary section. The tiny tots differentiated between colors like pink, yellow, green, and orange, dropped the balls into the correct compartments based on colour recognition, associated the colour of the circle with the colour of the objects, hopped from circle to circle and many more. Ultimately, identification of colours helped the little ones to create a cognitive link between visual clues and words.

Earth Day is celebrated all over the world on 22nd April every year. Picking up the opportunity to make students, stewards of the future world, aware of their responsibility towards the environment, the school organised Earth Day Celebration from 17th to 22nd April 2024. Number of activities were conducted across the sections keeping the students engaged in insightful activities that promoted critical and creative thinking and highlighted the very principle of Reduce, Reuse and Recycle. To name a few activities Were-Keeping Bird Feeders and water, Colouring, making posters on the theme ‘Planet vs Plastic’, writing slogans, creating audio-visual presentations etc. The senior section students conducted an awareness programme for the juniors covering various environmental issues. These activities enhanced the students’ understanding of the importance of environmental wellness.

Fire Drill 2024

Fire is one of the most common hazards that can cause serious damage to life and property. It becomes imperative to integrate fire drills into schools to create a safety culture. A fire drill, under the able guidance of Mr Prashant Garg, HOD - Fire services PMD, Mr Bhavesh Pawar and his team was conducted for the students of Classes VI to IX on 16th April 2024 to celebrate Fire Service Week thereby instilling a sense of responsibility and preparedness among the school community. The drill was initiated with the sharing of history behind the inception of Fire Week followed by the demonstration and operating of fire extinguishers. Few students and teachers were even given the opportunity to operate the fire-extinguishers independently.

The session further proceeded with an engaging PowerPoint presentation that shared comprehensive information on fire safety and Dos and Don'ts of fire accidents followed by a short quiz.

Gudi Padwa Celebration 2024

Gudi Padwa, a spring festival that marks the auspicious beginnings of lunisolar year in Maharashtra, was celebrated with great zeal and fervour by the students of pre-primary section on 8th April 2024. The premises was decorated with garlands and rangolis and a traditional gudi was erected. The little cherubs, decked up in traditional attires, participated enthusiastically as they recited the shlokas and worshipped the gudi with their teachers. Later, students made colourful drawings depicting festivities related to the festival. In a nutshell, the celebration of Gudi Padwa connected the children with the cultural roots of the festival.

A special assembly was organized for the students of Primary Section on the occasion of Gudi Padwa. Importance of celebrating the festival was highlighted through a students’ talk in Marathi and English and a teacher’s talk. A Marathi group song rendered by students added a musical flavour to the celebration.

Grandparents have ears that truly listen, arms that always hold, love that’s never-ending, and heart that’s made of gold. A grandparent is a little bit parent, a little bit teacher, and a little bit best friend. Celebrating grandparents’ day in school is an excellent opportunity to express gratitude and strengthen family values among the little ones.

On 14th February 2024, pre-primary section welcomed around 200 senior citizens to the well-decorated Civic Centre to bestow upon them the honour they deserve. A variety of items like poem recitation, dance and songs were presented by the students and the grandparents were given a chance to share their experience and words of wisdom. They also enjoyed playing some games organized for them. The programme ended with refreshment and photo shoot to cherish the memories.

A nation of many cultures, languages, and traditions – India's true beauty shines in its rich diversity.

75th Republic Day was celebrated in RFSLEM with great éclat displaying great pride for the nation and its constitution and spirit of unity. The chief Guest Shree S. Rangarajan unfurled the Indian Tricolour and all sang the National Anthem solemnly. Graceful parade, euphonious patriotic group song, fluent and flawless speeches by young orators, energetic drill and colourful dances marked the occasion triggering the patriotic feelings of all who attended it.

Students of Primary Section celebrated the Republic day on 29th January 2024. The students were decked up in traditional attires of different states underscoring the spirit of Ek Bharat Srestha Bharat. Interesting activities including a speech on Republic Day, Maharashtra tableau, group dance, patriotic song, Fancy Dress on the theme 'We are one' and an engaging quiz on language added an educational flair to the programme. It concluded with parade.

It was with the intention of creating awareness and thorough understanding about the impact of social media on the life of students, the Student Care Services, in its second year of Project Prayas, initiated the topic Social Media and Its Impact on Students in compliance with the choice of the students. Students of class XI expressed their opinions, shared their experiences and contributed to the collective understanding of social media dynamics through the Talk Show, Quiz, Short film and Skit which enlightened the audience which included middle and secondary section.

The school radiated with joy and colour as the students celebrated Diwali, the festival of lights, with enthusiasm and merriment. The students of Pre-primary and Primary Section donned vibrant ethnic wear adding an extra sparkle to the celebration and relished traditional sweets along with charming activities.

The Diwali Gift Exhibition organized by the Student Care Services in partnership with the Dr. Nandkumar Jadhav Foundation in Panvel was the highlight of the celebration. The exhibition featured a colorful array of Diwali gifts, including traditional Indian handicrafts and decorative items that showcased the unique talent and creativity of the special children, adding a personal touch to the celebration. It provided a platform for students and staff to explore and support the artistic endeavors of these young artisans.

Truly speaking, the exhibition enriched the cultural experiences within the school and fostered a sense of inclusivity and community.

Tech-Com FEST 2023, hosted by RFSLEM students of grade 6 to 12, was an extraordinary event that showcased the innovative spirit and dedication of our students and educators. This scheduled annual festival, held on November 4, 2023, was a grand platform for students to exhibit their talents and projects in the fields of Technology and Commerce.

 

Key Highlights:

  1. Diverse Range of Projects: RFSLEM students exhibited more than 40 projects that spanned various domains, showcasing their prowess in technology and commerce. The projects included intriguing topics such as Trade War Analysis, Product Launch Process & Marketing Strategies, Self-Made Bionic Arm, and In-House Chatbot Applications, many app-based games made by students, Data Protection bill, and a complete career corner for parents and students to support college admission process and many more."

 

  1. Phenomenal Research and Presentation: The efforts put forth by both teachers and students in researching, preparing, and presenting their projects were truly remarkable. The depth of research and the eloquence in presentation were evident in each project, reflecting the dedication and hard work that went into their development.

 

  1. One Month of Preparation: The success of Tech-Com FEST 2023 was not an overnight achievement. Both students and teachers invested an entire month in rigorous preparation, which resulted in the high-quality projects and presentations that left a lasting impression on all attendees.

 

  1. Parental Appreciation: The efforts put into this event did not go unnoticed. Parents who attended the fest expressed their widespread appreciation for the students' exceptional work. Their praise for the students' abilities in research, presentation, and communication skills was a testament to the quality of the projects and their execution.

Tech-Com FEST 2023 was an exceptional platform for our students to demonstrate their knowledge, creativity, and innovative thinking. It highlighted the dedication of the entire RFSLEM community to nurturing talent and providing students with the tools to excel.

We extend our heartfelt appreciation to the RFSAC leadership for their constant motivation, the PMD site management for their never-ending support, students and educators for their dedication and hard work in making this event a resounding success.

The quiz comprised of five riveting rounds - Spell Check, Word Expedition, Hodgepodge, Author Enigma, Talk on the Spot and Rapid-Fire round that tested participants' linguistic acumen. After a fierce round of words and wit, the Falcons emerged as winners.

The Inter-House English Language Quiz showcased the importance of language mastery and also highlighted the exceptional talent of the students.

Ms. Songire's expertise in branding, creative ideation, and marketing communications offered students a comprehensive understanding of this dynamic field. Her engaging presentation left the students inspired and equipped with knowledge about the multifaceted aspects of advertising and its broader implications. On the eve of Janmashtami celebration on 6th September, 2023, playful little Krishnas and beautiful Radhas adorned the premises of Reliance Foundation School (EM) that resembled no less than the streets of Mathura and Vrindavan. The tiny tots performed on Choti Choti Gaiya..., formed human pyramid to break the matki, watched an animated movie on Lord Krishna’s birth and enjoyed dancing to the beats of garba. The high-spirited little ones, with their laudable performances,  added charm to the Janmashtami festivities and created memories to be cherished forever.

It is not only his excellence in his game, but his noble thoughts that make him great. 29th August is celebrated as National sports Day to commemorate his birth anniversary.

To promote physical fitness, teamwork, and a healthy lifestyle among students, a weeklong sports activities were organised from 24th August to 29th August 2023. It was also an opportunity to honour the achievements of notable athletes and inspire students to pursue a sport of their choice. It also fostered a sense of sportsmanship and unity within the school community.

The objective was to instill scientific inquisitiveness and analytical approach, to orient students about ISRO’s Chandrayaan 3 Mission, to make students aware about changes made in Mission 2 due to learning from Mission 1 and disseminate information regarding various parts of Chandrayaan 3 and payloads of Vikram and Pragyaan.

While the Play way method of teaching and learning is being promoted, gamification of teaching concepts and developing certain skills is a part of the day-to-day teaching plan. Teachers of the Pre-primary section organized a game of riddles to foster critical thinking, teamwork, to improve concentration and communication skills, to enhance abilities to observe, and develop describing skills among the kiddies. In this activity, the children had to describe the objects and actions to their group members to help them identify them. All students enjoyed the activity thoroughly.

As we raise the flag of our nation, let's raise our commitment to make our country a better place for all. The school celebrated the essence of being Indian and the privilege of living in a free country with great pomp and pride on 15th August 2023. The Chief Guest Mr Ashu Garg, President, RIL, Patalganga hoisted the flag in accompaniment of Mr Dhirendra Harbola, Principal, RFSLEM, Mr Subhash Gole, Vice-Principal, RFSLEM, Dr Suhas Sabnis, Vice-Principal, RFSLMM, Staff of both the schools, Security Personnels of RIL Patalganga, students and parents. Students of both the schools expressed their pride and respect for the country through group songs in a very melodious way. Pre-primary and Primary sections celebrated this day with an impressive blend of music, dance, skit and speech performances on patriotic theme.

This year is being celebrated as an International Year of Millets. Catching up the opportunity, students of Primary, Middle, and Higher Secondary sections presented a PPT and attractive displays highlighting the importance and great nutritional value of millets. They also explained it in detail to the guests.

The Annual Marathon at RFSLEM with the motto - Run to Empower has been one of the most celebrated events of the year where the enthusiastic runners came together to experience the thrill of a marathon. The young athletes were grouped into categories - Junior group (V to VII) and Senior group of boys and girls (Classes VIII to XII). Mr Ashu Garg, President, RIL – Patalganga, graced the event to motivate the runners with his presence. The non-participants stationed themselves at every nook and corner of the route as cheerleaders to give a shout-out to encourage the zealous participants. The first three winners from each category were awarded with gold, silver and bronze medals. The Annual Marathon thus celebrated health, fitness, and unity within our school community.

On this day a tree plantation activity was organised where 70 mango saplings were planted under the Plant4life initiative by RIL Patalganga. The saplings were planted by RIL President Mr Ashu Garg, Principal Mr Dhirendra Harbola, Vice Principal Mr Subhash Gole, HOA Mr Vinay Singh, Vice Principal of RFSLMM Dr Suhas Sabnis along with teachers and students. A small but a significant step which symbolized our willingness in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals as a community.

Pre-primary CCA Activity : Memory Game

Through games and playing, children can nurture their imagination, improve their ability to listen, as well as develop important cognitive skills that will avoid their future development. And memory games are a vital part of this.

In this indoor activity, the students were shown objects/ cards kept in a tray for a while when they were asked to observe them. Then the tray was covered and the children were asked to tell what they had seen. The students were able to concentrate, recognize, remember and recall the pictures/ objects seen. Later they were asked to draw them on a sheet of paper.

Young creative minds of classes I to III delved into the realm of poetry through Poetry Recitation Competition conducted on 8th and 9th August 2023. The competition aimed to create awareness about nature and different facets of family focusing on multidisciplinary approach through poems on Animal Kingdom, Nature, and Family. It helped the students to enhance their vocabulary, appreciate the beauty of nature, hone their communication skill and nurture teamwork. Ample time for practice and explicit guidance on proper pronunciation, intonation, tune and rhythm of reciting poems boosted the confidence of the participants who had even prepared props to enhance the beauty of the poems. Summing up , the activity contributed to the holistic development of our students.

Investiture Ceremony 2023

Leadership and learning are indispensable to each other. Potential leaders of tomorrow are groomed, developed and raised in the educational institute. Understanding the importance of instilling leadership qualities in the young learners, the school conducted elections to form the school student council for the academic year 2023-24. However, the ministers underwent selection rounds for various portfolios to prove themselves the best candidate for the posts.

Monday, 7th August 2023 witnessed the grand investiture ceremony that conferred new responsibilities to the newly elected council. In a very elegant and regal manner, the new council members were invited to the stage in accompaniment of rhythmic beats of drums. The outgoing council handed over the flags to them symbolising transfer of their duties. The principal and senior secondary section coordinator administered the oath to the head boy, head girl and the rest of the council respectively. The head boy and head girl addressed the gathering and promised to uphold the duties with utmost sincerity and loyalty to them and to the alma mater. The sublime ceremony ended in the most befitting manner with the national anthem.

Talent Show Competition - Middle School

We believe, every child is born with a talent, we just need to identify and nurture it.

RFSLEM believes in identifying and nurturing the hidden young talent. Talent show competition, conducted on 5th August 2023 for classes VI to VIII, is one such step taken in this direction. The competition was conducted in two rounds. The first round i.e. the qualifying round was conducted in the respective classrooms where the class teachers did the screening of the talent in four categories - Solo Singing, Solo Dance, Poem Recitation and Playing of Musical Instruments. The students put their best foot forward in an attempt to reach the finale.

The finalists, filled with great enthusiasm and gusto, gave their best performance to convince the proficient judges about their latent talent and emerge as undisputed winners.

Summing up, the competition achieved the purpose of providing a platform to the young prodigies to exhibit their talent.

Learning to replicate movements, recognize movements through verbal commands, and move the correct parts of the body in an efficient way to perform the movement as instructed is the benefit of attentive listening. Through the game of Simon Says, organized on 4th August 2023, the tiny tots of the Pre-primary section were exposed to a gaming time that enhanced their listening skills, enriched their vocabulary, and enhanced their attention span. The children were engaged in this competitive activity and motivated to win in it. The proud winners received a STAR sticker. Prompts coming one after another kept them alert and keen to listen to and act upon.

Book Review Intra Class Competition & Character Costume Parade

The above quote holds true as reading coaches one’s imagination to think big. Inculcating a love for reading at an early age unlocks the door to lifelong learning. To reap the rich benefits of reading and to pay a tribute to P N Panicker – The Father of the Library Movement, an Intra Class Book Review Competition for classes VI to VIII was conducted on 10 July 2023. The students selected a book read by them and wrote the review which was assessed for the competition on the parameters like introduction, summary, critique and language mechanics. The competition therefore provided a platform to appreciate and motivate the young bibliophiles.

National Reading month continued with many fictional and non-fictional characters coming alive in the civic center of Reliance Foundation School, Lodhivali on 18th July 2023 for the Character Costume Parade where the students from classes VI to VIII were encouraged to dress up as their favourite author or character from their chosen book. The highlight of the parade was the procession through the school corridor and visited different classes where the participants introduced their characters which proved instrumental in imparting a great learning experience to the students.

Road Safety Awareness Programme

Reliance Foundation School organised a dialogue with Mr Chandrakant Mane, IMV RTO, Navi Mumbai to create awareness among the students about how to be vigilant when on road. In a very simple way he guided the students about the rules that one has to follow on road. It was truly an enlightening session.

Prior to this session, Mr Vinay Singh, HOA and an RTO officer held a meeting with school transporters setting guidelines and checklists regarding credentials of drivers, safety precautions including dos and don'ts which are necessary to be followed for the safety of students.

Sustainable Ways of Living- Let’s awake. Before it’s too late.

Celebration of Environment Day and Vanamahotsav was organized to meet the objectives of Sustainable Development Goals. The students of Class X enacted a humorous skit Let’s awake before it’s too late with the intent of raising awareness about ways to live a sustainable life. The play prompted the viewers to introspect and think wisely about the use of plastic.

Prior to this integrated activity, the students from various classes, painted T-Shirts in the classroom, with a theme on emphasizing green practices. The Civic Centre was decorated with these T-Shirts which created a suitable ambience for the occasion. The programme concluded with oath taking on judicious use of plastic and gifting of saplings to the teachers, thus conveying the message that every small step makes a difference.

The international Yoga Day, being observed this year with the theme Vasudhaiv Kutumbakam was celebrated zealously in the school involving the students of classes VI –VIII and IX-XI in two different sessions. First and foremost objective of celebrating the Yoga Day was to raise awareness about the innumerable physical and mental health benefits an individual gets by performing it daily. Another important aim was to instill love and compassion for each other.

Man’s inseparable connection with nature was highlighted through the performance of some of the asanas resembling aspects of nature like Vrikshasana, Parvatasana, Tadasana and Suryanamaskar thereby extending the meaningfulness to the activity. These were demonstrated by the guest yoga teachers. Students’ enthusiastic participation in the activity marked the day.

Student Care Services section of the school organized an interaction with an alumnus Mr Anur Dixit, IIM - Kozhikode, on 29th April 2023 for the students of std IX-XII with the objective to educate students on the advantages of pursuing higher education at top-tier institutions and to provide guidance on how to get there as well as to inspire and motivate students to aim high and strive for excellence in their academic pursuits. The session provided insights into the admissions process, such as the importance of grades, test scores, extracurricular activities, and recommendation letters. The interaction included tips and strategies for preparing for and succeeding in the application process, as well as advice on how to make the most of one's time at a top-tier institution.

Raising The Readers

To inculcate reading habits from a very young age and love for reading books, Pre-primary wing organized an activity Raising the Readers on 10th March 2023. Children were asked to bring print storybooks with lots of pictures which they enjoyed reading in the natural environment of the school ground. They even brought a stuff toy as their reading buddy. The activity proved beneficial in improving language skills and cultivate lifelong love for reading.

Marathi Bhasha Diwas was celebrated in the school commemorating the great contribution of the veteran Marathi writer V. V. Shirwadkar (Kusumagraj). The variety of programs in all the sections included Ganesh Vandana, Bhavgeet, Bhaktigeet, Powada, speech highlighting the importance of Marathi. The children also came in traditional Marathi attire and regalia of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and Rajmata Jijabai. Famous Marathi literature were on display and typical delicacies of Maharashtra were relished by all.

On 14th February, 2023, the Pre-Primary section of the school celebrated Grandparents’ Day to acknowledge the important contribution made by grandparents to the well-being and education of their grandchildren. They were welcomed in an auspicious way by applying kumkum tilak, offering a rose and showering rose petals on them. After lighting of lamp and prayer, the Principal Mr. Dhirendra Harbola and coordinators addressed the grandparents expressing gratitude for making the event more special with their presence. A variety of entertainment programmes like Nukkad Natak, dance, singing of rhymes and songs were presented. PPT presentation, games like antakshari and quiz were organized to make them rejoice. Some of the grandparents expressed their views and feelings. The programme ended with refreshments, photos and grandparents’ visit to the classes of their little ones.

Annual Sports Meet 2023

Reliance Foundation School, Lodhivali ( EM) celebrated its Annual Sports Meet on 30th January 2023 with great enthusiasm and zest. The grandeur of the day was made stronger by the gracious presence of Mr. Ashu Garg, President, RIL – Patalganga. The event began with the lighting of the torch. The torch relay was launched by the young prodigies who excelled in various field sports. A bunch of colourful balloons soared high up in the blue sky representing the spirit of all participants waiting to exhibit their talent.

The Head Boy of the School led the oath-taking ceremony in which all the students pledged to instil the sportsman spirit within them. It was followed by the declaration of the meet open. The audience witnessed the ground-breaking and energetic performances by the students in the form of song, lezim, pom pom drill, martial arts, and dance performance portraying the various popular sports.

All the winners of the various races were felicitated with certificates and medals. It was a day when the students proudly exhibited sportsmanship, team work, and healthy competition amongst them.

Reliance Foundation School, Lodhivali (EM) celebrated 74th Republic day with full zest and zeal.  The day began with the flag hoisting by the Chief Guest, Mr. Ashu Garg, President of RIL Industries, Patalganga. The tunes of Jana Gana Mana… echoed all around. He also rendered a motivational message to the students, sensitizing  them to work earnestly for making the country healthy, prosperous and green ,keeping in mind the motto of ‘Make In India’ and sustainability. The day saw students voicing their feelings for the Nation, adding patriotic hues to the celebration with their brilliant performances of song, dance, Nritya Natika, Zumba, Yoga and many more. The day concluded on a sweet note with the distribution of sweets among the students. Pre-primary and Primary section students too celebrated Republic day the day before ,giving them the glimpses of their beloved country through talk on National symbols, patriotic poems and songs, dance and quiz.

One festival - The beauty of India

Makar Sankranti was celebrated on 13th January for classes 3-5 and the Middle Section in Civic Centre.

The students of Primary Section represented each state tableaus in traditional attire of Makar Sankranti. They briefed about the special name, the importance, the dress, the food habit and ceremonial rituals associated with the festival in each state.

Dance and songs associated with the festival were rendered by the students. 

Around 300 students of Middle section enthusiastically participated in the celebration and realised the importance of the harvest festival.

Through STEM activity ,the science behind flying kites and importance of eating jaggery and til was explained to the students.

Christmas Celebration 2022

The students of Pre-Primary and Primary section celebrated Christmas on 23rd December, 2022. The objective of Christmas celebration was to keep up with the glory of Christmas to propagate the message of spreading happiness around us. The premises were decorated with colourful Christmas Trees, balloons, bells, colourful ribbons and other decorative materials. Students came in colourful dresses. They danced, sang Christmas carols, poems, presented Talk on the significance of the festival and enjoyed the celebration with Santa Claus. An animated movie on Christmas celebration, birth of Jesus Christ and Santa Claus was shown to the students.

Inter-Class Declamation Competition

Students of std IV & V had an amazing experience of artistic oration performed by some of them in Inter-Class Declamation Competition organized for them with the objective of making them confident about public speaking. Participants impressed the audience performing with astounding articulation and fluent presentation of their thoughts on the topic Taste Food, Do Not Waste It. All the participants exhibited great oratorical skills. They were very expressive, confident and had good intonation. The activity helped them in enhancing critical thinking and improving their communication skills.

Field visit - National Institute of Securities Markets

Reliance Foundation School, Lodhivali (EM) organized an educational trip to the National Institute of Securities Market (NISM) for the students of 11th and 12th Commerce. The first session was held in The Stimulation Lab, the lab for algo- trading where the students were informed about the background of NISM, its importance and concepts related to technical analysis of stock market. The management of NISM had even arranged a dummy trading to provide hands-on experience for the students. The second session on Career opportunities included school of information and research, supervision, regulatory studies and many more. It also highlighted the courses available in NISM like mutual fund, advisory, derivatives, equity market, operations, compliance etc. After two amazing sessions, the students and teachers were served with refreshment. The campus tour covered huge campus of approx. 70 acres that includes 4 academic buildings namely A, B, C, D, and hostels. Along with the integration of amazing courses and technology, the institute also focuses on environment by using solar panels and waste management system. The field trip imparted the students with an experience to be cherished forever.

Inter-house Cyber Quiz

Inter-house Cyber Quiz was organized on 3rd December 2022 for the students of IX-XII to provide the students an exciting gamified learning platform and to update the students with the latest technology quotient. The four houses were named after fictional artificial intelligence characters as FRIDAY, EDITH, KAREN and JARVIS. This IT quiz brought a paradigm shift in quizzing which introduced new technology concepts such as software based rounds, gamification and Animation. The Kites House won the quiz.

Inter-house Maths Quiz

On 3rd and 15th December 2022, Inter-house Maths Quiz was conducted for the students of classes IX –XII and Classes VI- VIII respectively with the objective to establish relationship between theory and application of the concepts learnt. The competitors passed through four challenging rounds testing their mathematical acumen problem solving skills and critical thinking. 

The Falcons House with its sharp and quick reasoning skills was declared as the winner from the middle school and Eagle House from the Secondary and Senior Secondary section.

Acknowledging the importance of children in our lives, students of Pre primary and Primary sections, spent a memorable Children's day as they decked up in colourful outfits and left the baggage of studies behind. To make the day even more exciting, various programs like dance contests, fun quizzes, and even a magic show were organized for them. These fun-filled activities made the day unforgettable for young minds thus ending it on a joyous note.

With the objective of creating opportunity for the students to develop their skills in dance, strengthen their creativity and make them aware of the rich culture and tradition of India, an Inter-class Folk Dance Competition was organized for the students of classes VI-VIII on 14th November 2022. Students participated in the competition with great enthusiasm and discovered the joy of dancing on vibrant and vigorous beats of folk songs in various languages. Clad in colourful traditional attire, the participants set the stage on fire with their fabulous and thrilling performance.

Potential leaders of tomorrow are groomed and raised in the educational institutes through diverse portfolios thereby building confidence, developing leadership qualities and sense of responsibilities among the students. Investiture ceremony, held on 14th November 2022 marked the induction of newly elected Head Boy and Head Girl, and selected members of council—Ministers, Captains and Vice-Captains. The Principal, Mr. Dhirendra Harbola administered the oath for the newly appointed Head Boy and Head Girl and Dr. Dipak Chaudhari, Coordinator, Senior Secondary section, administered the oath for council Members, Captains and Vice-Captains. While outgoing Head Boy and Head Girl shared their experience followed by the newly inducted Head Boy and Head Girl expressed their vision and mission for the year.

Pets Day and Field Trip

Pre-Primary section organised Pets’ Day as a part of their thematic unit – The Animal Kingdom. Parents having pets at home took out some time from their busy schedule to let children have a hands-on experience and learn about caring of pets. The students were thrilled to see the pets and enjoyed petting them. As a part of this activity a field trip to Goodwill Stud Farm to show them horses and their habitats was organised where they learned about food, care and daily routine of the horses.

It was endearing to see the tiny tots develop a sense of love and care toward animals.

Mental Health and Wellness Week 2022

Student Care Services unit organized mental Health and Wellness Week from 6th to 14th October 2022 to make students conversant with the importance of mental health and ways to maintain it. A variety of age-appropriate activities were conducted class wise including speech, bookmark making, toy talk, poster making, skit, poem recitation, storytelling, slogan writing and quiz on simulation, extempore, essay writing, myths and facts, documentary etc. Class 12 students hosted the event and carried technical responsibilities. Apart from this the entire school was engaged in display board decoration and students solemnly promised, through pledge, to maintain good health. A mail was also sent to all the parents to make them aware about their contribution in good mental health of their child. A bookstall was arranged by the library where the books related to mental health were displayed. A self-rating stress questionnaire was given to teaching and admin staff to check their stress level.

Dussehra Celebration 2022

The festival of Dussehra is celebrated to commemorate the victory of Lord Rama over the evil king Ravana and also the victory of Goddess Durga over the demon Mahishasur. Victory of good over evil, symbolizing one can burn one’s vices like anger, lust, pride, greed, jealousy leading one’s soul to purity. The students of Pre-primary and Primary sections rejoiced in the great celebration of Dussehra through an animated film showing its significance. A puppet show was presented for the students of LKG to class 2. Students came in bright colourful traditional clothes and enjoyed dancing to the rhythmic beats of Garba.

Suhana Safar - Pre- Primary Transport Day was conducted with a plethora of activities. It included Rhyme recitation, show n Tell of models showing various means of transport, Skit enactment on Road Safety, Talk Show on saving fuel, Dance on transport theme, Puppet Show on safety on road was enacted. Students were given hands-on experiences of vehicles through demonstration of various vehicles like car, bus, truck etc.

Students demonstrated a road safety drill on the road with zebra crossing and vehicles .Children also did colourful art and craft activities on transport theme

Hindi Diwas celebration 2022

The school celebrated Hindi Diwas from 14th September to 16th September 2022 with the objective of promoting Hindi language and inspiring students to learn, read and adopt it. Hindi is not just the National Language of India but the fourth most spoken language of the world. Keeping the importance of Hindi in mind, a variety of activities were organized for the students from pre-primary to class 10. Some of the activities were Poem Recitation, Riddles, Story Telling, Skit, presenting Couplets, Advertisements, Nukkad Natak, One-Act Play etc. All these activities were designed on the basis of Bloom’s Taxonomy.

National Sports Day

The school celebrated National Sports Day, like every year, on 29th August 2022 to pay tribute to the great hockey wizard Major Dhyan Chand. A programme was organised for students of Senior Secondary section by the sports department where the resource person, a sports enthusiast Mr Sanjay Patil  engaged the teachers as well as students in a fun filled and entertaining session with games and activities to test auditory and motor skills. A Power Point presentation was given by the students of classes IX and X showcasing great achievements of players in the recent Commonwealth Games in the UK. For the primary and middle section Inter-house Sports quiz was organised for classes IV-VII. The house teams were named after players –P. V. Sindhu, Mirabai Chanu, Neeraj Chopra and Bajrang Punia. The quizmasters were students from class IX-X. The Kite house won the tie-breaker and were declared winners. Principal Shri Dhirendra Harbola and Coordinators  graced the occasion.

Prior to this major event, on 26th August 2022, a special assembly was conducted for the classes III to V to apprise them about the importance of sports by the PE teacher. A short film on Major Dhyan Chand and a talk on OVEP (Olympic Value Education Programme) to inculcate the sports values was given.

Celebration of 76th Independence Day

On 15th August 2022, 76th Independence Day of India, Mr. Ashu Garg, Site President, RIL Patalganga, as the Chief Guest for the occasion ,hoisted the Indian Flag in the presence of the Principal Dhirendra Harbhola, school staff and students. Musical rendition by the school choir and enlightening words of the Chief Guest aroused pride for the country in the minds of the attendees. The school had an ambience of cheerful festivity and grand celebration all around, with the lobby area decorated with students’ art and craft work, charts, posters, rangoli and a multi-modal display of the James Webb Telescope and Giant Metre Wave Radio Telescope. Prabhat Feri with drum beats, flute notes and shouts of slogans filled the hearts of the attendees with the spirit of patriotism.

Everyone was immersed in the spirit of patriotism and celebrated 76th Independence Day with great enthusiasm.

Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav

The school celebrated Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav from 5th August to 17th August 2022 including the grand and glorious Independence Day on 15th August offering the students from Pre-primary to Senior Secondary Section, a plethora of activities evoking patriotic feelings as well as opportunities to explore their talent. Engaging activities like Craft, Colouring and Drawing, Teacher’s Talk on National Symbols, Student’s Talk on National Flag, Fancy Dress, Making Tricolour Rakhi, Extempore were offered to Pre-primary and Primary Section. Students of the Primary Section were also engaged in drill and rally dressed in Freedom Fighters’ attire, Role Play, Prabhat Feri and group song. Activities designed for the Middle Section included Extempore on freedom Fighters, great Achievers of India, and Independence Day. Some other activities for the Middle Section were Display Board Decoration, Declamation, Poster and Banner Making, and Nature Photography. Senior Secondary students were encouraged to narrate the glorious stories of the valour of freedom fighters, recite poems and sing songs on the patriotic theme and Rangoli Making. Special assemblies were conducted for each section separately. The students of Secondary and Senior Secondary sections made a beautiful documentary covering India’s progress in various fields from its Independence to date. 

A webinar on Careers in Armed Forces was organized through which Captain Ajinkya Manjrekar, alumna, rendering his service in the Indian military, guided the students of class XII.

Reading Month Celebration

To instil and develop reading habits among the learners, the school observed Reading Month from 19th June to 19th July 2022 with meticulously planned age and class-appropriate activities for all the classes. On 2nd July, a STAR (Stop Take A book and Read) period was scheduled for the entire school community including the administrative and non-teaching staff, wherein the everyone was encouraged to take a book of their choice and read. Activities organized for the Pre-primary and Primary Section included Show and Tell, Poetry Recitation, Read Aloud, Picture Reading and Puppet show. Teachers of the Middle Section engaged the students in Rearranging Jumbled Stories, Picture Reading, Theme Based Reading (about sports and Yoga), Story/Slogan Writing, News/ Newspaper Article Reading, Poster Making, Elocution, Self-composed Short Story/ Poetry Presentation, Class Discussion on stories read, Learn More about the Author. Senior Secondary students enjoyed daily newspaper article reading in classrooms, Reading books from the library and writing reviews on the books they have read.

World Environment Day

A weeklong celebration of the World Environment Day witnessed a variety of activities enthusiastically performed by the students of Primary to Senior Secondary sections. Following the theme Only One Earth, the activities were designed to focus on living sustainably in harmony with nature. Plantation program was carried out to create the school’s own Physic Garden. It was inaugurated by Principal Shalini Garg .The students of class VIII brought medicinal plants, collected information and prepared posters to promote awareness about the importance of plantation. Students of primary section were also part of the plantation activity. Secondary and senior secondary students delivered talks on detrimental effects of one-use plastic in our daily life and the consequences of its use on the environment.

International Day of Yoga

The 8th International Day of Yoga resonated ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ to commemorate India’s rich culture of yoga .The school celebrated International Yoga Day between 18th June and 21st June 2022. The students participated in it with great enthusiasm by engaging in a variety of activities designed for them. Students and teachers performed breathing exercises, Suryanamaskar and yoga asanas under the able guidance of the P. E. teachers. Students from different sections delivered Talk of the Day on ‘Importance of Yoga in Today’s World covering the rich tradition of Yoga and its relevance and importance in today’s world during special assembly conducted on the day. They designed posters with slogans on Yoga for Humanity and composed poems on the topic Stay Fit with Yoga. Wide variety of books on YOGA were also displayed in the Library of the school.

Earth Day

With the objective to appreciate the beauty and express gratitude to the bounty of the Mother Earth, the Earth Day was celebrated on April 22, 2022 with utmost enthusiasm and zeal. Several activities were planned for classes from Pre-primary to XII. Art and craft activity related to conservation was conducted for Pre-primary. A special assembly was held for students from classes II to V to create awareness on the importance of this day through talk and songs. Students of class X spoke to the students of classes I to VIII creating awareness on Sustainable living. Poster making activity was conducted for classes I-VIII. Digital poster making competition for the students of classes IX to XII provided opportunities to showcase their creativity. Classes IX to XII also resolved through an oath to act with mindfulness for the betterment of the planet. All the activities helped students to perceive and ascertain the importance of the earth.

National Science Day

On the occasion of National Science Day a week-long activities were conducted in celebration to commemorate the great scientist C. V. Raman’s invention of Raman Effect on MST platform to spread a notable message about importance of science in the day-to-day life and to instil scientific temperament amongst the students. The programme included two major activities—Science Fair and Eureka.

 

Science Fair

With the purpose of promoting interest in Science and Technology, and understanding their interdependence, a virtual Science Fair was organised for Classes VI & VII on 25th February 2022. The young scientists talked on Oximeter, Covaxin and Robotic Surgery. They prepared working models of artificial solar oxygen tree, electric sanitizer machine, vending machine, excretory system, hydraulic lift etc. They also explained science behind certain myths and facts.

 

Eureka

Primary Section conducted ‘Eureka’ a science quiz covering most relevant topics of day-to-day life like food, food preservation, nutrients, endangered animals, deforestation, digestive system, respiratory system, functioning of eyes etc. The five teams named after five elements answered with lot of zest and enthusiasm.

Celebration of 73rd Republic Day

The celebration of 73rd Republic Day at Reliance Foundation School, EM started with great exuberance. The celebration started with flag unfurling in the school premises by the Site President Mr Ashu Garg, the Principal Ms Shalini Garg, Dr Suhas Sabnis, Principal (RFSLMM), Mr Vinay Singh (HOA), RFSL. Online celebration for students through MST commenced with the address by the Principal and the academic coordinators following the flag unfurling. The programme continued with oath taking by the students of Senior Secondary section evoking the feeling of patriotism. Subsequently a mellifluous group song was presented expressing devotion of the citizens towards the country. Nukkad Natak was presented by Primary section to reinforce Swachha-Bharat Abhiyan, recitation of beautiful Hindi poems and skit were presented by the students of Middle and Secondary section not only to entertain the audience but also to spread important message of being responsible citizens.

 

Last but not the least, the student council shared their hopes and aspirations for "naye India ki nayi pehchan".
